Elderton Wines is a second-generation winery based in Australia’s famous Barossa Valley. Run today by brothers Cameron and Allister Ashmead, its overarching vision is to produce excellence from their distinguished vineyards in the region.
With its first wines under the Elderton label coming from the fabled 1982 vintage, the company's focus has always been world-class Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon from old vine vineyards – one of the region’s great advantages.
Elderton currently owns and manages 65 hectares of vineyard across the sub appellations of Nuriootpa, Greenock and Craneford (Eden Valley). The wines are made in its 80-year-old Nuriootpa winery, exclusively from Elderton's own fruit grown in a sustainable fashion with low yields.
Elderton’s oldest vineyard dates back to 1894, which produces its flagship Command Shiraz that has been made since 1984 and has become ‘one of Australia’s modern classic’ wines.
Elderton is looking for long-term expansion in China with a trusted partner.
