Chateau Musar

Chateau Musar was established in 1930 by Gaston Hochar in the cellar of an old 17th-century castle.

Less than 40 years later, the estate was internationally acclaimed for its unique and extraordinary wines. In 1984 Decanter paid tribute to Musar by bestowing its late winemaker, Serge Hochar, Gaston's son, with its inaugural Decanter Man of the Year award.

Chateau Musar crafts legendary wines from blends of international and ancient Mediterranean grape varieties. At over 1,000 metres above sea level, the high altitude helps to moderate temperatures, allowing thrilling, exotic wines to be created.

Musar’s red wines are characterised by their complexity, full body and long ageing potential, while Musar whites are also full bodied with great finesse.
