La Spinetta comprises four estates with one common philosophy – to make wines with passion. They plant only indigenous grape varieties in the 200 hectares of vineyards located in some of the best crus of Piedmont.
A combination of strong ideals, respect for tradition and the pursuit of excellence prompted Giorgio Rivetti and his family to expand their portfolio – not only beyond Piedmont, but outside the boundaries of still wine.
In 2009 they acquired Contratto, of Asti Spumante and traditional-method sparkling wine fame. The cellars are part of a Unesco Heritage site with almost 150 years of winemaking history.
Only vintage wines are produced, all with a minimum of four years' lees ageing and no dosage, making them great wines for food pairing.
